Jason Ernsdorff Interview

The guys working on the Dungeon Siege MOD Shadows of Winter had the chance to ask Jason Ernsdorff of Gas Powered Games several in-depth questions concerning the Siege Editor, among other things. Here’s a snippet:


    Q: I know that you guys get this one a lot, but: “When is the Gmax plugin going to be available?”

    Also, is there any chance is releasing the 3dsMax plugin that you used. The artists on our team have 3DsMax. This would be very helpful to us, and I’m sure to a lot of other mod teams. Until we have the ability to create our own models for creatures and unique locations there is only so much that we can do.

    A: I asked and the most recent schedule has Siege Max coming out “when it’s done.” Biddle is working hard on it though so keep your eyes open.

    Tools will be available for both gmax & 3dsmax. We will compile a separate version of the plug-in required and the maxscripts will run on either product. This will be the same toolset that we use internally for future work. With the 3dsmax version, you will have the ability to access CStudio’s animation tools.
