Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Finally Revealed

Final Fantasy VIII is probably my third favourite Final Fantasy game of the franchise, after FFVII and FFX. The magic system was very different, plus the taking exams bit and being absolutely specific with your trial time in the lava cave, were things I just hadn’t seen. Well, soon all these FFVIII gameplay features will be played by a whole new audience, when it is remastered and re-released on modern consoles, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC Steam later this year.

Another info bomb from SquareEnix at E3 2019 showed us the reveal trailer…

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered brings the game’s classic story to modern platforms, now with newly rendered visuals that bring the game’s characters to life like never before.

In Final Fantasy VIII, the nation of Galbadia has declared war on the Dukedom of Dollet, who must hire the mercenary force, SeeD. Squall Leonhart, a new member of SeeD, together with his friends and Rinoa Heartilly, a member of a resistance group, get pulled into the war, unaware of their fated task to save the world from a dark and powerful force.

The eight game in the franchise has many things you would expect from a Final Fantasy game, such as Summons, Chocobo’s, Powerful weapons, and an engaging and powerful storyline, but throws in new gameplay mechanics and surprises that have kept the series fresh and playable for decades.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered will be available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC Steam in 2019. For more information stay local to TheZombieChimp.com or visit: www.ffviiiremastered.com.
