Fallout: New Vegas Dead Money DLC Reviews

It’s been a few days since our last selection, so I suppose another round-up of Dead Money DLC reviews might be in order.

Strategy Informer gives it a 6.0/10:

For all its Bioshock-inspired environments Dead Money falls short delivering on its premise. At 800 points for an eight-hour adventure it’s certainly value for money but when the quantity far outweighs the quality then this is one adventure you can miss.

Video Game Talk gives it a 3/5:

I’m curious if Obsidian led off with their weakest Fallout Vegas add-on pack as the repetitive, frustrating gameplay emphasizes the weaker elements of Fallout: New Vegas and seems even more buggy than the actual game. Raising the level cap by 5 does help extend the life of the first game though, even if the add-on pack is on the average side. On the positive side, the story is the strongest aspect of the add-on pack and makes the journey to finding the Treasure of Sierra Madre highly entertaining. (It’s also apparent that the developers are fans of the Bogart film.) You are looking at about 5 to 7 hours of playtime to finish the quest for $10 on the Xbox Live Marketplace. If you are a Fallout Vegas fanatic, you will probably enjoy the material. Just be wary of the frustrating trial and error format and you probably don’t want to attempt the pack until you have about 20 levels under your belt.

Gametactics gives it an 8/10:

Dead Money is a different Fallout experience that may not appeal to everyone due to its simplistic gameplay mechanisms and fetch quests but for those that can look past that and get absorbed into the experience are going to have a great time and get a great value for their money.

And AusGamers gives it a 7.9/10:

Putting aside these gripes, it is well worth a look as it sets a particularly different tone, and raises the level cap to 35 giving grinders a whole new mess of skill points to muck around with. While you could rush through it, I suggest you grab your scavenger’s cap and explore every nook and cranny, and suck the marrow out of the bone of this spooky little batch of DLC.
