Fallout 76 – Upcoming Patches Detailed

A new “Inside The Vault” development update for Bethesda’s recently released Fallout 76 talks about the updates coming to the post-apocalyptic multiplayer RPG in the near future. It also points us in the direction of the recently released patch for the game that adds a number of new features and fixes a bunch of miscellaneous issues.

Here’s an overview:

As we approach the end of 2018, we have a few more details to share with you about our current patch schedule. While we won’t always have new information about upcoming patches in these articles, we’re planning to share details about the new game content and in-game events we have planned for future patches, as well as community-created content, photomode photos, and more in articles to come during the weeks and months ahead.

UPCOMING PATCHES

DECEMBER 11

As we’ve mentioned before, our latest patch contains several new features: Automatic removal of rocks, small trees, and other debris when you build in your C.A.M.P., SPECIAL re-speccing for players above level 50, as well as several new settings for PC, including push-to-talk for voice chat, 21:9 monitor support, and sliders for Depth of Field and Field of View. We hope these new goodies will help you have even more fun during your quests to rebuild Appalachia!

We’ve also fixed a ton of bugs in this patch—including the Personal Matters quest, high-level weapon damage, and more—and will continue to address additional bugs in future updates going forward. Finally, we’re still committed to making our patch downloads as small as we can, and this update will be around 3 GB for PC and approximately 5 GB for consoles. The full patch notes have already been posted, and you can check them out by clicking here.

We still plan on releasing this patch for PC today. However, since we’ve needed extra time to test it internally, there will be a slight delay for the console versions of the game. We plan on releasing the patch for Xbox and PlayStation players on Thursday, December 13.

DECEMBER 18

We’re still hoping to provide one more patch in mid-December. As mentioned previously, this patch will continue our focus on stability and other concerns raised by the community. If we do move forward with this patch, it will be the last one this year as we shift our focus toward updates we have planned for early 2019, which will include new game content, many additional bug fixes, and more changes based on your feedback. We’re still determining the status of this update and will keep you posted as this date approaches.

As always, please continue to share your feedback about the game with us. We’re currently putting together a sizable known issues list based on your feedback to give you a look at what we’re working on, and that should be available in the coming days. We also can’t wait to share what we have in store for you in 2019, and your thoughts will continue to be very helpful as we make further improvements for Fallout 76 going forward.

We’ll see you in the Wasteland!
