Fallout 4: Automatron DLC Released

The first DLC for Fallout 4, Automatron, has been released today on Steam, Sony Entertainment Network and Xbox Live for $9.99/€9.99/£7.99. It’s worth noting, however, that American players on Sony’s console will have to wait until 1pm ET to get their hands on the DLC.

This first piece of downloadable content for Bethesda’s first-person post-apocalyptic action-RPG adds a new storyline that pits the Sole Survivor player character against the Mechanist (although it’s unclear whether it’s the same character as Fallout 3 or a new one taking the same mantle) and adds a large amount of robot enemies to the game.

Players will also be able to make and customise their own robot companions, including but not limited to the trusty Codsworth robot butler. Unfortunately, all this content is limited to characters who are at least level 15. Here’s the promotional blurb:

The mysterious Mechanist has unleashed a horde of evil robots into the Commonwealth, including the devious Robobrain. Hunt them down and harvest their parts to build and mod your own custom robot companions. Choose from hundreds of mods; mixing limbs, armor, abilities, and weapons like the all-new lightning chain gun. Even customize their paint schemes and choose their voices! For characters level 15 or higher.
