EverQuest II: Desert of Flames Preview

GameSpy has put together a two-page preview that unveils the first information we’ve seen about a PvP arena that will be included in Sony Online’s EverQuest II: Desert of Flames expansion pack. An excerpt to follow:

Interestingly, to make the Arena more accessible to all types of players, you can choose to play in PvP matches using your actual characters, or in a separate type of match where everyone plays as “Champions.” Champions are creatures or elementals who can do your fighting for you. Although everyone who buys the expansion will get a base set of champions to play with, more are available for purchase or through questing (yep, you guessed it — super-rare champions appear as super-rare drops.)
