Eidos Wants to Honor the Heritage of Deus Ex

Electronic Theatre brings word that Eidos president Ian Livingstone is “very concerned” about honoring the heritage of Deus Ex with the third installment, so we shouldn’t expect a release date anytime soon.

Questioned about his own interest in Role-Playing Games (RPGs), and the possibility of Eidos investing in an expansive open-world title akin to Bethesda Softworks’ The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3, Livingstone stated that Deus Ex 3 represented just such an opportunity for the publisher.

(Looking at Deus Ex we have a shot at making a pretty good RPG,) Livingstone commented, before continuing to state that it was a series they were very concerned with honouring the heritage of, and that the would be no rush to market for the game, flatly stating, (It’ll be ready when it’s ready).
