Dungeons & Dragons Tactics Reviews

A few more online reviews of Atari and Kuju Entertainment’s Dungeons & Dragons Tactics are now available. The first is at Ace Gamez with an overall score of 6/10:

Dungeons & Dragons Tactics is pure D&D, with all of the good and bad connotations that carries. I have spent well over a year anticipating this game and had hoped until fairly recently that it would be a game that I could tell people “buy a PSP and this game – you won’t be sorry”. Unfortunately, if you do that, you probably will be sorry – so only approach if you’re a big RPG fan and don’t mind overlooking flaws to enjoy what a game has to offer.

The second is at CNET AU with an overall score of 5.2/10:

For the avid Dungeons & Dragons fan this next installment will definitely provide hours and hours of adventurous play time, especially with your character’s customisations and upgrades. But if this is your first go at a turn-based strategy, let alone Dungeons & Dragons, then you probably won’t be that eager to try out some different turn-based titles. Having gone to good lengths to make this game easy to pick up for a new gamer, it still feels that the real enjoyment is left for the die-hard fans.

And the third is at Game Revolution with an overall score of “C-“:

Whether you can find D&D Tactics’s many flaws tolerable or not will probably stem from whether you’re flyin’ console colors or sportin’ tabletop gear. Those of us that roll with a dice pouch can stand D&D Tactics. We understand how it be: you just gotta take it slow and easy. Most console boys, though, they’s all impatient, expectin’ some kinda instant gratification. Ahem. Sorry, I don’t know why this game prompts me to speak that way. Regardless, there is a lot to appreciate behind all to appreciate, but it will take either a diehard D&D fanaticism, or a lot of tasty shoes.
