Dragon Age II Preview and New Screenshots

GameStar.de has cranked out a two-page preview of Dragon Age II, complete with two exclusive screenshots that depict Hawke and an unknown mage combating some darkspawn. Those of you who weren’t happy about the last two screenshots probably won’t find many redeeming qualities in these two shots, though. A snip from the preview, courtesy of Google’s less-than-perfect translation:

In Dragon Age Origins, players still had the choice to create a hero that match your preferences. This made it possible as a human, dwarf or elf to do with different origins completely different story prologue adventure. The downside: Because of the enormous diversity Bioware had no need for a speaker, the hero or heroine was the only character the whole game over (apart from moaning and grunts in combat) mute. Dragon Age 2 gives the hero a voice, but restricts the choice considerably. The player controls always the champion Hawke, but can not decide between at least one male or female adventurers.

The combat system established by Dragon Age: Origins with pause mode, clear bird’s-eye view and tactical commands in Dragon Age 2 remain largely the same on the PC. Nevertheless, the whole will probably come along dynamic a lot as we explained the Lead Designer Mike Laidlaw from Bioware, “give When I go to Dragon Age: Origins a combat command, I must look on at Origins before me, how the character shuffles cumbersome in the right position and then swing the sword. This is not acceptable. “For PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 would like the fighting but Bioware better adapt to the gamepad controller.

In Dragon Age 2, the magician will come to benefit from the cool slow-motion finishing moves – were reserved in the previous melee only. In addition, the classes will play significantly different. Therefore, the extensive combat system is responsible. So it is not only much more for melee combos, even your spells mages can now specialize and thus adapt every possible combat situation.
