Divinity: Original Sin – The Board Game Update #37

The board game version of Divinity: Original Sin is just about ready to be shipped. According to the latest Kickstarter update, the project’s backers should start getting their copies around August 2023. And in the meantime, we’re treated to the final version of the official rule book, and get a chance to check out a few miniatures.

Here are some additional details:

Hello everyone and welcome to update #36. We hope you’ve had a good start to your year. We’re back to share with you some updates on the production timeline, the final version of the rulebook, and a first look at some of the minis!

First of all, we wanted to update you on the timeline of shipping for backers. Our manufacturers have gotten back to us and we are looking at the following timeline:

  • Finished production proof – Mid-March
  • Showing you the final printed copy – June
  • Shipping to hubs – July
  • Shipping to backers – August

This is later than the previous estimation we had shared, but further delays seem unlikely. This timeline is based on our manufacturer’s least optimistic estimates – they’re planning for 12-16 weeks of production on their end, so our estimate is based on 16 weeks. We and our manufacturing partner share the philosophy of taking the time to get things right rather than pushing manufacturing to the point of stress, increasing the possibility of production issues and flaws. Nevertheless, we will keep you updated if anything changes.

We’d also like to share with you the final version of the Divinity: Original Sin the Board Game Rulebook. After all the revisions and editing, this is the version that has already been sent to print and that you will have in your hands once the game is shipped:

We’ve seen your questions about the minis and the Paint Pack, and we are very excited to show you a first look at them! Below you will find some images of the minis as they look once painted with the Vallejo Paint Pack.

That’s all from us today — next time we’ll be sharing more info about Nightmare Mode, so keep an eye out!
