Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga Reviews

Should you still be unable to decide whether or not Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga deserves a spot on your hard drive or in your console collection, these three new reviews might help you make up your mind.

Strategy Informer gives it an 8.0/10:

Still, this is definitely an improved version over the original, so kudos to Larian for the extra work they’ve put in. The game does do a pretty good job at fixing the technical problems, the extra content is welcome, and the pacing is improved so that you don’t get stuck all the time. This is definitely a game for hardcore RPG fans, so if you haven’t tried it already, this is definitely worth a go.

Xbox Live Addicts gives it a 7.5/10:

The gameplay (unfortunately) remains exactly the same as the main game, there are no additional talents or spells to learn which is a huge initial disappointment. However we do instead choose from one of five classes and earn experience points the usual way, which if you are new to RPG titles means we complete quests and kill a whole bunch of bad guys normally including a healthy dose of monsters. These experience points are then distributed among the various talent trees on offer thus creating a powerful character of your choosing. Pick a Ranger when starting the game, add in a helping of Mage abilities and suddenly your Ranger is not only shooting arrows from his bow but flames from his hand too. The obvious difference when starting the expansion is the fact Dragon form is open from the get-go. In Ego Draconis it took a number of hours before you were able to learn this ability and start soaring around the world.

And ImpulseGamer gives it an 8.7/10:

If you loved the original game, you’ll enjoy the sequel and it’s a great port from the PC to the XBox 360. The story may be clichéd and over the top but its gameplay is relatively quite good. It’s definitely not the most original game of the year but if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it and Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga abides by this rule. Another traditional RPG that doesn’t push the boundaries but offers purists a fun few hours of escapism. Entertaining from start to finish!
