Diablo II Patch, Expansion Screen

Some D2 related info coming atcha. First, that ferociously annoying-as-heck duping problem seems to be fixed for the most part in DiabloII on the closed battle.net realms… yes, for the past month people have found a way to duplicate items and have done so abundantly with some of the best items in the game, altering the economy significantly. Log on to Battle.net for the automatic download of patch 1.06, or download straight from Blizzard.

Secondly, a new mouth-watering expansion screenshot of the Druid in action with caption at the new 800×600 resolution was taken and placed at DiabloII.net.

On a Solution to the Diablo II Trading Problem tangent:
A typical trading room auction pre-patch:

<Baron Muleboy> MY 10 SOJ’s FOR YOUR 12 SKULLGRASPS!!!! CARRION SONG DUPED BOW FOR 12 SOJs! /w *LordStankOne

Imagine that scrolling by every 2 seconds. One might wonder why one would spend any time in a place such as that… the answer is, because if you hoard enough SOJ’s (“unique” Stone of Jordan’s) or have any nice rares you won’t be using, you can trade for something very nice.

The simplest solution and I think one that is way overdue, is to make the “unique” items just that. Unique. Every person can only have just ONE unique item like the Stone of Jordan, Frostburns, Eyeless Shield, Tarnhelm. What would this do? It would prevent hoarding, because you cannot transfer your unique to anyone who already has one, it simply would not complete the trade.

What would it also do? Raise the value of uniques, rares, set items, and turn the trading forums into a decent place.
