Deus Ex: Invisible War Reviews

A pair of reviews for Ion Storm’s Deus Ex: Invisible War have made their way to the web. The first is at ActionTrip with an overall score of 84/100:

Unlike the original, it won’t take you too long to finish Invisible War (one weekend should do it). On the plus side, there are multiple ways to end the story, so you’re likely to get the incentive to replay certain areas in the game once more. Even with some of the shortcomings, the game still deserves a slightly higher score due to a tremendous effort that went into the open-ended gameplay, as well as the overall design. Deus Ex: Invisible War is an enjoyable first-person RPG certainly worth your attention and money.

And the second can be found at Just RPG with an overall score of 80%:

Deus Ex: Invisible War is an average game (with a great story, don’t get me wrong), but it shouldn’t be. Deus Ex set the bar for games, it was innovative, compelling, interesting, and one would expect its sequel to be. But it’s not. Instead, what we are given is a dumbed-down version of what should be a good game, but was extremely limited by the console it was primarily made for. I had fun playing it, but I have fun playing a lot of things. I should’ve been unable to stop playing it, missing sleep and whatnot (like Deus Ex 1). But alas, it was far too easy to press ‘quit’ at the end of the night. It was just not up to par. I put the blame entirely on Xbox. Oh, and some on Ion Storm. But mostly Xbox.
