Deus Ex: Human Revolution Interview

Dedicated To Gamers caught up with actor Elias Toufexis for a brief interview about the voice work he did on Eidos Montreal’s Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Good news for those of us who enjoy lots of dialogue options:

DTG: Do you see your job as voice talent in videogames becoming ever more taxing with the progress in games development and what we expect as an audience? Open-ended games and branching conversational loops must be a nightmare…

ET: Look at it this way; It took me 3 years to record all of my lines for Deus Ex. The conversational loops alone for one character would take an entire session considering there are so many things for the player to choose. To me though, that’s what’s really fun. When it comes to games like Deus Ex I can’t make a judgement on the character because I simply record every possible outcome. So I basically can only make a judgement about the way the character is played by the player. I can judge the player.
