Desslock’s RPG News

Desslock has returned to post an update to his RPG news section over at GameSpot, talking about New World Computing’s layoffs, some reviews he has written, and some of the remaining RPGs of 2002. Here’s a snippet:

Once again, I’ll be one of the judges for the E3 Game Critics’ Awards, so I’ll be sure to let you know the most promising upcoming games demonstrated at the show. While 2002 should be a good year for RPGs (more on that topic in a moment), there actually aren’t a lot of major RPGs yet announced for 2003 and beyond, other than massively multiplayer RPGs. That’s not unusual prior to the show, but as of right now BioWare’s Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is the only major RPG release that’s scheduled to be released sometime after 2002 (there’s also some promising European RPGs, such as the sequel to perhaps the best RPG of 2001 – Gothic).
