DAoC Gets VE’s Can o’ Whoop Ass

One of the newshounds over at VoodooExtreme, as many of you know, was heavily involved in the most recent beta of Dark Age of Camelot, putting in over 200 hours of time into the MMORPG. Today he posted his review of the game, as the final should be in stores at any time now. Here’s a sample:

While grouping with other players has always been a lot more fun to me, there are always times when your pals can’t be online and soloing is the only way to go. Downtime is a major pain in EverQuest, and in Dark Age of Camelot players regenerate hit points and mana much quicker, so taking on green and blue con monsters isn’t all that bad on your own, as it just takes a minute to regain your mojo after a big fight. The downside of going it alone is that if you die – chances are you’ll need to release back to your last bind point, pay the healer in town to restore your lost constitution, and you’ll lose 10% of the experience you gained that level (although if you travel back to your grave and pray, 5% will be kicked back). Corpse runs are a thing in the past too, as when you die you won’t lose any items, just experience. Oh, and should you die and lose that 10% experience you won’t be knocked down to a lower level either, if you’re on the bubble.
