Cthulhu Saves the World Reviews

A few more review have cropped up for Zeboyd Games’ ultra-cheap parody retro-RPG Cthulhu Saves the World, and they’re all positive towards the indie title.

Gameplay Monthly, A-.

Cthulhu Saves the World is an RPG experience unlike any other. Its humor is great, the art style is well done, the music is fantastic, and the gameplay is very fun. I guarantee that you’ll have a blast if you play this game.

OMGN, 8.8/10.

Currently, Cthulhu Saves the World can be bought for a price less than that of a lunch special or a good cup of coffee. Even if this game were available at full price, I would still give it a high recommendation. From the off-the-wall, self-aware humor, snappy dialog and free wheeling leveling mechanics, this was the buddy-road-trip of RPGs with its random adventures, funny characters, and a constant need to keep playing if only to see what kind of trouble the characters get into next. There are not enough games with well-written dialog or a sincere sense of humor. For those who love indie titles, classic RPGs or just a refreshing change pace of modern titles, this game is for you. And with such a low price point, there is literally zero reason not to pick this up.

And finally, Front Towards Gamer, 9/10.

I dare someone to find a bigger bang for their buck than this. This game is a lot of fun, despite (and sometimes because of) the simplifications added to the formula. While short for an RPG, (I am notoriously slow at finishing games, and even I’m only clocking in 12 hours) it is a lot of fun. Add to this that the game is only $3 and comes with another RPG by the same guys (Breath of Death VII), and I can’t even understand why any RPG fan does not yet have this.
