Cover Fire – A Mobile Game Experience Like No Other

Cover Fire is a brand new third-person shooter that you can play on iOS and Android. Coming out of Genera Games in-studio collaborators, One Man Band, this is a fantastically interesting idea for a mobile and tablet game. You lead a group of soldiers into battle to stop a mega-corporation from terrorising small villages. Each team member carries a specific set of skills that you can upgrade and use to your advantage. Figure out the best tactics and deploy. Cover Fire is offering an experience for mobile and tablet users that has never been seen before. But, will it work?

The biggest issue for me with this game is the fact that it is a shooter. It is not a turn-based strategy game; the type you normally see for mobile games. The concern comes down to the accuracy. Control is crucial when playing any sort of shooting game, you need to be able to aim with some skill. Although Cover Fire has incorporated 3D Touch technology into its mechanics, it still could be a concern.

Having said that, it still looks like a very intriguing concept. If it was a a PC or console game, it could be seen as rather generic. But, on its current platform, it opens up a lot of corridors for what mobile and tablets can do. It also has a story based on the “Cover Fire” comic that is told across 60 different missions. How differing these missions are we will find out when we play. The best part about this game is that it is trying out a new concept. By taking how we play android and iOS games and transforming it into a brand new experience. It may not be the first of its kind, but it is taking steps in the right direction.
