CD Projekt Co-Founders Resign

Publishing house CD Projekt’s CEO Michal Kicinski and business development director Marcin Iwinski, both co-founders of the Polish studio, are resigning from their positions, GamaSutra reports. The exact reasons are vague though it seems beyond doubt that this is tied to the Optimus purchase, but the company assures us no ongoing projects are influenced by this change in staff, and both Iwinski and Kicinski are staying on in other positions.

“They wanted to step back and relax after very busy last period, after finalising the venture with Optimus and other strategic projects and simply decided to take a longer leave in order to restore energy and to avoid being burned out.”

CD Projekt claims that Kicinski and Iwinski’s departure will not affect any project currently in development, as “every company inside CD Projekt group has their own management working independently from the owners”.
