Big Ben Acquires the Spiders Development Team Under Its Belt

After acquiring three development studios over the past eighteen months, BigBen have now announced the acquisition of Spiders, a French video game development studio that specializes in RPG’s and action games.

Based in Paris, Spiders was created in 2008 by former Monte Cristo TM developers, using their skill to create games such as Iconic Mars: War Logs, Bound by Flame, The Technomancer, and Greedfall. The latter being released in September of this year.

So Bigben has become even stronger not only with the Spiders integration, but previous gains as well. Cyanide Studios gave them a stronger delivery of cycling simulations, turn-based games and stealth games. Increasing their stake in Kylotonn Racing increased the strength of their position in racing simulation games for cars and bikes. Eko software gave them action RPG’s and collective sports sims.

All of the above fit in perfectly with their aim of “making Bigben one of the reference leaders of AA video games by 2022”.

“This acquisition fits perfectly with Bigben’s strategy to increase its know-how in the development of video games in the AA strategic segment. We are delighted to welcome the talents of Spiders who will strengthen our Development unit and participate in new and even more ambitious projects.”

Alain Falc, Chairman and CEO of Bigben.

“We look forward to joining the Bigben Group, a reference player in the video games industry whose strategic vision we fully share. Becoming part of the Bigben Group is a unique opportunity to accelerate our development alongside other quality studios, by integrating an environment conducive to the creation of ever more qualitative games.“

Jehanne Rousseau, CEO and co-founder of Spiders.

The acquisition of Spiders is expected to be completed by Early September, after they’ve done wll their usual legal, and financial Gubbins.
