Avernum is an RPG straight from the past, but with enough modern concessions that make it very fun today. Despite some quirks of its aged feeling, it’s a game that almost perfectly captures the feel of a good old fashion tabletop D&D session, with a world that’s fun to explore and plenty of evil butt to kick. If you have a thing for older RPGs, Spiderweb’s latest offering does not disappoint.
