Ash of Gods: Redemption – A Flurry of Patches

AurumDust’s narrative RPG Ash of Gods: Redemption was released on March 23rd and since then it has already received a total of six patches. You can find their detailed descriptions on Steam – patch 1.0.16, patch 1.0.25, patch 1.0.27, patch 1.0.31, patch 1.0.34, patch 1.0.37. If you prefer a quick summary instead, the patches slightly lower the game’s difficulty, adjust the game’s balance, fix some of the plentiful text issues, add the v-sync option, and fix a number of bugs.

Now, usually when newly released games get patched at such a machine-gun pace, their overall state leaves a lot to be desired. However, having played Ash of Gods around its release, I was pleasantly surprised by the game’s level of polish and only noticed a couple of minor visual glitches and some awkward bits of text. Of course, this is purely anecdotal and your mileage may vary.

Here are the patch notes for one of the bigger patches:

Good news, everyone! Despite the fact we were going to release another patch on Monday, we decided to do it today.
Patch 1.0.25 is now live at Steam version and bring some balance adjustments and bug fixes.

CHANGELOG:

  • Reduced Strixes consumption for Thorn, Gled, Hoda, Fisk.
  • Reduced the price of the Strixes from traders by 30%
  • All merchants received additional goods with Strixes
  • Reduced the impact of the Reaping on the opponents’ stats by 5-12%, depending on the chapter
  • Thorn’s squad will have 30 more Strixes at the beginning of their journey
  • The starting curse is reduced by 2 points in one of the branches of conversation between Blans and Koronzon
  • Fixed the bell tower in Albius disappearing for Hopper
  • Fixed the story event for Hopper with the trader Bred
  • Fixed missing characters in items’ descriptions in Chinese
  • Added option to disable “hems” during dialogs
  • “Hems” are now played less often (edited)
  • Balance changes for enemy power in chapters 3 to 9. The game should be overall more comfortable now
  • GOG version will be updated later today
