Kingdom Come: Deliverance Now Has an App-Driven Board Game in the Works

The major draw of KC:D for many was the chance to get immersed in historically accurate 15th century Bohemia. If that’s you, we’ve got some exciting news: you’ll get to do it again, but this time with up to 3 friends around a dining-room table. Kingdom Come: Deliverance – The Board Game, set to release in 2023, is a 1-4 player, app-driven cooperative campaign that “brings the Lands of the Bohemian Crown to your table”.

Set during the beginning of the Hussite Wars, the game’s campaign will stretch over multiple scenarios, with opportunities to develop your characters in between levels, and featuring new locations and characters in every scenario. The game’s description makes it difficult to glean exactly what the gameplay is like, but it appears to be some kind of narrative-heavy roleplaying game.

The app will play a major role in the overall experience, providing voice acting for every NPC conversation. It should also make tracking the campaign much easier, which will be important — characters will apparently remember and react to you differently based on actions you’ve taken previously (which sounds like a pretty neat feature for a board game).

The game is currently on crowd-funding website Gamefound, where you can follow the project to stay apprised of future updates, as well as ask questions and give suggestions to the developers.

Planning on supporting the project? Think board games are just inferior video games? Let us know in the comments!
