Amazon Games is launching a free-to-play multiplayer game on May 20th

Joining the Hunt In Crucible

Amazon Games is working with Relentless Studios with their upcoming free-to-play team-based action shooter, Crucible. Crucible will be a free-to-play competitive team-based shooter developed by Relentless Studios, that will have aliens, hunters, robots, and other mutant creatures that you and your team of fighters will take down to become champions! Amazon Games has been in the spotlight for the last few months with its upcoming game, New World, which is coming out in August of this year. With gamers, all-around fighting over some of the new free-to-play shooters out today, such as Valorant, Crucible is coming in strong with gameplay full of movement and teamwork that will keep players interested, during this time while we wait for the New World to fall into our hands.

Crucible Team Attack

What we can expect

At first glance, Crucible gives off the gameplay of Valorant, and the movement Apex Legends has at it’s prime. Crucible has a diverse roster with many characters to choose from, and motivation for the players to stick to their primary objective, find the Essence. The essence is the games level up system for the hunters, the main job is to choose your side, aliens, robots, hunters, and fight your way through the planet and survive to achieve the Essence resource to level up your hunter, and unlock new upgrades for your character. The main challenge that Crucible faces at this time is the amount of diversity the battles will have on release. With a promise of great fast-paced gameplay with your team, taking control of the grinding for the primary resource will need to ensure each match is different. The developers over at Relentless Studios had an announcement for this question:

“In Crucible, every match is different, and players’ choices really matter,” said Christoph Hartmann, vice president at Amazon Games. “Every opponent, team, and mode poses unique dangers, and no two matches are the same, so players must constantly adapt to everything the world and the other teams throw at them. We’re excited for players to join the hunt in just a couple of weeks, and we can’t wait to hear what they think of it.”

Free-To-Play Combat

The free-to-play combat in Crucible will be spread out between three different game modes; Heart of the Hives, Harvester Command, and Alpha Hunters. Each of these game modes will vary between the number of players in the match and the main objective. Heart of the Hives having two sets of four-player teams that will fight against a variety of mega bosses spread around the world. The main goal will be for your team to capture the heart of the hives before the other side does. Harvester Command will be two teams of eight players, which most gamers will know as domination. In Harvester Command, your team of eight will hold down the harvest points to gain the planet’s resources to win. The final game mode in Crucible is Alpha Hunters. This game mode is simple, but fast with eight teams of two hunters fight to be the last hunter standing.

Upcoming release

With many free-to-play action-based shooter games on the market at this time, Crucible is coming at us with some fast based gameplay that we’ve seen in some other free-to-play shooters in the past few years. Still, it has a diverse group of characters to choose from and enough game modes that will keep things interesting. Crucible has a released date on May 20th, 2020, and with Amazon games having another upcoming game, New World, gamers all around will be keeping their eyes open while playing Crucible here in the next few weeks.
