Buy a Digital Batman Comic, Get a Gotham Knights Batcycle Skin

If you plan on completing Gotham Knights, achievements and all, you’ll be spending a lot of time on the Batcycle. Now, players looking to spruce it up with an exclusive skin can snag one by reading Batman: Gotham Knights — Gilded City #1 on the DC digital comic website.

It’s a little confusing figuring out exactly how you get your hands on the skin, so here’s a quick rundown: You can’t actually buy a digital copy of the comic book. Instead, you must subscribe to the DC Universe Infinite Premium program (the Free Trial won’t let you get a key for the Batcycle skin). The pricing tiers are $7.99/month, or $74.99/year. Once you’re subscribed, here’s what happens (according to the FAQ):

Paid subscribers of DC UNIVERSE INFINITE (not available in all territories) will also be able to access digital issues of Batman: Gotham Knights – Gilded City, and will receive codes upon reading the issue. Codes will not be available during the free trial period of DC UNIVERSE INFINITE. Readers who redeem codes from all six issues will receive four exclusive skin variants (one for each character)!

Additionally, the print release for Batman: Gotham Knights – Gilded City #1 will release on October 25, 2022 — codes will also be available to anyone who buys a print copy of the comic.

It’s interesting that in the official Twitter post, they don’t mention the exclusive skin variants for the characters, since those are arguably more exciting than yet another black Batcycle skin. Perhaps we’ll see those skins revealed as subsequent issues of Batman: Gotham Knights come out.

Read the comics? Think it’s lame that they’re gating skins behind a digital comic book subscription? Let us know in the comments!
