Mind of the Mad-Man! – Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich Mission

This guide is for one of the missions in Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich. It includes an overview, map, and points of interest.

Mission Overview

“Blitzkrieg has taken our city away from us. He has taken our very existence. But now it is time to bring the fight to him.”

You’ll start out at the entrance to Blitzkrieg’s lair (#1). Despite what the main objective says, you won’t actually find Blitzkrieg during this mission. Instead, you’ll be hunting for Time Master (#2). Along the way you’ll encounter Nazi gunners, major and minor eyes of the reich, and hypnospheres (#3).

Eyes of the reich are vulnerable to electrical damage, so Green Genie and Tombstone should make short work of them, especially since Green Genie can attack them through the walls. The hypnospheres are a little more problematical. Every time a hero walks through one, he or she will become hypnotized and start attacking the rest of your party.

We’ve heard people suggest that flying through the spheres will bypass the hypnotism effect, but that didn’t really work for us. So we’d recommend you just have a hero walk through them, try to avoid as much damage as possible, and then flip the nearby switch (#4) to turn off the sphere. Spheres will re-activate after a short delay, but the hypnosis effect should run out first, and so the hypnotized hero should be able to move safely to the switch after being caught in the sphere.

Note: The best character for moving through the hypnospheres is Green Genie. That’s because she’ll usually transform the other heroes rather than damage them.

When you reach the room with Time Master, you’ll learn that Blitzkrieg has set a trap for you. All of your heroes will appear in the room, and the doors will close behind them. Then each of the four time gates in the room will start producing enemies — primarily minor eyes of the reich and Nazi grenadiers — and you’ll just have to hang on. Shortly, Alchemiss will tell you that she can get you out of the trap if you survive for another minute, and once you’ve done that the mission will end.
