A Giant Stone Head – Fallout 2 Encounter

The Sacred Head of the Vault Dweller, or so it claims to be. When you strike up a conversation with the head, it will dispute your claim to be the Chosen One. This will go on for twelve hours, after which the head will reward you with a Monument Chunk. The chunk can be used to temporarily grant your character the following bonuses: Strength +3, Agility +2, Damage Resistance +50.

If you like the Monument Chunk, you can steal three more from the head. The only problem is, if your Steal skill is less than 95%, then the head will detect your thievery and kill you (even if it seems like you’ve pilfered the chunks undetected). To circumvent this, you can immediately enter combat mode to run away from the head and exit the area. As long as you don’t use up all of your AP while moving, you can move, exit combat mode, restart combat mode, and then repeat until you’ve escaped.
