Fable Anniversary Character Spotlight: Scythe

It’s been a very long time since I last posted about new promotional features for the original Fable, so it’s kind of a nice change of pace to send you over to this spotlight feature for the character Scythe in Lionhead’s upcoming Fable Anniversary re-release. Since it’s relatively short, I’ll quote the entirety of it:

If there’s one inevitability in life, it’s that it will come to an end.

While the above may ring true for the mortal men and women of Albion, Scythe’s very existence is testament to the true power of the necromantic arts. Indeed, if whispers from the shadowy corners of Albion’s inns are to be believed, his life can be traced back to the time of William Black and the Old Kingdom.

Though ancient, the ravages of time are no stranger to Scythe. A tattered rag covers what’s left of his rotting face; eyes lidless and teeth bared in a harrowing visage that bears little resemblance to the other Heroes of Albion. Yet despite his fearsome appearance, his ornate golden armour and fine blue robes give rise to further speculation around his true identity. Could his birth, though long ago, have been noble, even royal?

Unsurprisingly, few are willing to challenge a foe as daunting in appearance as Scythe, and even heroes approach him with a cautious respect.
