ESO Update 1.6 Releases Today

The highly anticipated ESO Update 1.6 releases today on PC.

As of 8:00 AM EST, The Elder Scrolls Online North American megaserver has been offline as ZeniMax Online Studios (ZOS) prepares for today’s release of Update 1.6. To say that ESO fans have been waiting for this day is a bit of an understatement. For months players have been anticipating today’s release and have been talking about little else on the official forums here.

ESO Update 1.6 Releases Today: Big Changes

When ESO Update 1.6 releases today there’ll be many significant game changes, including the new Champion progression system, Justice system, Provisioning overhaul, and more. Most of the changes have been embraced by the ESO Community, while others like the nerfing of the Sorcerer class have been open to debate.

Update 1.6 easily brings about the most sweeping game enhancements to-date, and today’s patch should be around a 20GB download. As a player with the gaming handle wenxue2222b16_ESO wittily opines:

Not quite a big as a bull netch but bigger than a guar.

Even with high speed internet, Update 1.6 will take some time to download. As of now, no one knows for certain when the megaserver maintenance will be complete. Players who expect to be away from their PC’s today can simply leave their game client open and the Update will automatically begin when ready.
