You’ll receive this quest from the ghost Edgar in the Valley of the Wanderer (#1), but only after accepting the quest The Curious Case of Edgar from Shepherd Nicholas in Moonrise.

Walkthrough

Edgar will tell you the story of Bittersting, a bow he crafted that was far too powerful to let anyone use. Edgar will then reveal that he was murdered for the bow, and that he can’t rest while it might still be in the hands of a murderer. If you volunteer to look for the bow, then Edgar will thank you, but he won’t have any hints for where you should begin your search.

You’ll eventually track down the bow in Master Warren’s chamber in the Gildedmoon Repository in the Moonrise Underground (#2). To enter the chamber, you’ll need to pick up the Diamond Key from Master Warren’s crypt in the Eastern Astral Range. The bow will be in one of the chests in the chamber.

When you return to Edgar, he’ll go a little bit crazy seeing Bittersting in your hands, and he’ll attack you. You’ll earn 1000 xp for killing him and 2000 xp for completing his quest. With Edgar out of the way, you’ll also get to keep Bittersting.
