Overview

1 – Blocked Passage

Amid the rubble in the passage you’ll discover a few powder kegs. If you destroy a keg on the northern side using a ranged attack, then the kegs will explode and clear a route through the passage.

2 – Hidden Caches

With enough points in Spot Hidden, you can detect up to 17 treasure caches hidden in the cave. If you loot all of them, then you’ll end up with six Small Emeralds, six Small Rubies, three Diamond Chips, two Large Rubies, and one Large Emerald.

3 – Levers

At this spot you’ll discover six levers. There isn’t really any clue for what to do with them, but if you look closely at the levers then you might notice that the stones beneath three of them are “dirty” while the stones for the other three are “clean.” If you activate the three dirty levers (that is, the outer levers on the left side and the middle lever on the right side) then a secret door will open up to the west.

4 – Locked Door

There isn’t a key for this door. You’ll have to pick it open.

5 – Abandoned Camp

Inside this camp you’ll discover a corpse with a Bent Key. The key will allow you to unlock a nearby chest containing a Healing Elixir II and a Mana Potion II. You’ll also find a puzzle chest. The clue for the chest can be found on the sign right above it: “The answer is S T E E L.” To figure out how that translates into a combination, just number the letters of the alphabet from 1 to 26, and then add up the values for STEEL. You should get 19+20+5+5+12 = 61. When you open up the chest, you’ll find 750 gp.

Note: After looting the puzzle chest, four Thugs will spawn in the cave and attack you.

6 – Hives

In these areas you’ll find one or more hives, many of which will contain Hive Larvae. You’ll need ten of these larvae for Hesham’s side quest.

7 – Rock

You’ll detect this rock even without the Spot Hidden skill, but if you click on it, then eight Bloodsippers will swoop down and attack you. Inside the rock you’ll find an Evil Amulet.

8 – Gruzz

In this part of the cave, you’ll meet the goblin Gruzz. If you’re friendly to him, then he’ll tell you that the combination for a lockbox in the Goblin Citadel is 66. The game will make a note of this for you in your quest journal, so you don’t need to write it down. Near Gruzz you’ll find a sealed barrel containing some ingredients.

9 – Rock

You’ll detect this rock even without the Spot Hidden skill. Inside you’ll find a Large Emerald.

10 – Hive Queen

The Hive Queen is tough. She has 100 Hit Points, she hits hard, and she can paralyze you. But she can’t see in the dark. So you’ll have a much easier time if you use a spell for sight (like Cat’s Eyes) instead of a Torch or a Lantern. When the queen dies, she’ll drop the Hive Queen Stinger, which you’ll need for the main quest Hive Queen. You’ll also earn 500 xp.
