What Lurks Beneath – Dungeon Siege III Side Quest

This guide provides a walkthrough for a Treasures of the Sun expansion side quest of Dungeon Siege III. Along with the walkthrough is a map and legend, which provides additional information.

Background

A giant sand worm has been sighted in the desert to the south of the abbey. Though it is extremely dangerous, it is rumored to have swallowed a great deal of treasure… along with countless victims.

Walkthrough

You can trigger this quest in one of two ways — by reading one of the warning signs (#1), or by walking right up to the worm (#2) and attacking it.

Slay the Giant Sand Worm

The Giant Sand Worm will have some larvae and smaller worms helping it out, but as long as you’re capable at delivering group damage, the battle shouldn’t be too tough. When the worm dies, it will drop a unique item depending on the character that you’re playing: Half-Digested Gauntlets (Lucas), Half-Digested Helmet (Anjali), Wormskin Gloves (Katarina), or Wormskin Shoes (Reinhart). You’ll also receive an essence and 614 xp.
