The Prototype – Dungeon Siege III Side Quest

Background

In the chaos of the enemy attack, Bartholomew lost a valuable weapon — a repeating rifle that is the first of its kind. He thinks it was left behind, somewhere in the Southern Mining Tunnels.

Walkthrough

You’ll receive this quest from Bartholomew in the Tumbledown Court (#1) after completing the quest The Tumbledown Court.

Find the Prototype Rifle

You’ll find the prototype rifle in a crystal cavern guarded by constantly-spawning spiders (#2). The prototype will start out in a crystal, so you’ll have to destroy the crystals in the cavern until you expose it. You’ll also have to deal with cannon fire from Jeyne’s forces, but if you keep moving then you should avoid most of it.

Return to Bartholomew

When you return to Bartholomew (#1), he’ll reward you with a unique item depending on the character you’re playing — Frostforged Scattergun (Katarina), Greaves of the Messenger (Lucas), Robes of the War College (Reinhart), or Tendon Slicer (Anjali) — and you’ll also receive 1124 xp.
