All That Glitters – Dungeon Siege III Side Quest

Background

Phineas is looking for rare gemstones called Painite, which are critical to the practice of geomancy — the old earth magic of the dwarves. Phineas gave you a Lodestar to help you find the Painite.

Walkthrough

You’ll receive this quest from Phineas in the Tumbledown Court (#1) after completing the quest The Tumbledown Court.

Gather Painite in Southern Tunnels

You’ll find the Painite for this objective on the southwestern part of the southern tunnels (#4).

Gather Painite Gems in the Deep Well

You’ll find the Painite for this objective near the entrance to the western tunnels (#2).

Gather Painite in Western Tunnels

You’ll find the Painite for this objective on the western side of the western tunnels (#3).

Return to Phineas

When you return to Phineas (#1), he’ll reward you with a unique item depending on the character that you’re playing — Frostfire (Anjali), Lescanzi Shard Sprayer (Katarina), Mantle of the Ivory Tower (Reinhart), or Winter’s Edge (Lucas) — and you’ll also receive 2810 xp.

Note: If you complete the quests Enemy at the Gates and Uninvited Guests before talking to Phineas, then Phineas will leave the Tumbledown Court before you can collect the reward from him, and you’ll have to complete the quest Lord Devonsey’s Trap to get him to return and talk to you again.
