Background

You’ll receive this quest from Salina in the throne room (#1) when you talk to her after triggering the quest Suspicion Falls on a Friend.

Walkthrough

Salina will tell you that she was in the tavern (#2) performing for a group of young dwarves when the sabotage in the mines occurred, and she’ll remember that one of the dwarves was named Grimbeard. When you talk to Grimbeard, he’ll remember the performance — quite favorably — but he won’t want to admit to it for selfish reasons.

If you have enough prowess in Intimidate or Fast Talk, then you can use one of those talents to change Grimbeard’s mind. Otherwise you’ll have to follow a specific sequence of dialogue:

• “You know Salina the Mountebank, do you not?”
• “In a way, you are responsible for Salina’s terrible plight.”
• “No, not completely. But I do think that your invitation makes you partially responsible for her.”
• “There is also the small matter of the private show which you convinced her to give.”
• “That may be true. But you would do Salina a great favor by testifying.”

But don’t worry. If you make a mistake you can just start over. Grimbeard will always respond in the same way.

When you convince Grimbeard to speak out for Salina, you’ll receive Krimbart’s Testimony plus 60 experience points.
