Overview

1 – Temple of Hesinde

This is where you’ll start out in the chapter.

2 – Neisbeck Trading Offices

The offices are involved in the quest Revenge for Ardo.

3 – The Silver Pitcher

When you approach the tavern, you’ll witness two watchmen discussing how there might be trolls inside. “Let’s wait for reinforcements.” The watchmen won’t say anything if you try to talk to them, but when you go inside you’ll see three trolls, and Innkeeper Brewmore will stop you and ask you for help. Apparently the trolls are hungry and thirsty, and they don’t understand what the word “pay” means.

To start off, you should talk to Brewmore again. If you have enough prowess with the Haggle talent, then you’ll be able to increase his reward from 2 to 6 ducats. Next you should talk to the troll closest to the bar. With enough prowess in Fast Talk or Human Nature, you’ll be able to convince Brewmore to feed the trolls for free. Otherwise you’ll be stuck with a Haggle option, where you’ll have to pay 5 ducats to cover for the trolls. There isn’t a combat option.

At the end of the encounter, you’ll receive your reward money from Brewmore, but you won’t receive any experience other than what you might have gained from passing the social talent checks.

4 – Ardo’s Residence

You’ll need to talk to Rakorium in the residence for a pair of quests — Prologue: The Adamantine Heart and “The Bewtiched Barstool” (see #7). Also, if you purchased the rock goblin from Crooked Otto in the Ducal Citadel (#10), then you’ll discover that it has chewed its way through a wall in the basement and revealed a secret room. Inside the room you’ll find a chest containing three Easter Egg items: a Grab Bag, an Aloha Shirt, and a False Beard.

5 – The Serene Sow

When you approach the tavern, you’ll witness Innkeeper Soapstone and the tavern regulars loitering outside discussing some “horrible monster.” When you talk to Soapstone, you’ll learn that a magician summoned a giant cockroach inside the tavern because he wasn’t happy with how dirty it was. “Please slay the beast before it gets loose and starts eating my best customers.” If you agree to help, then you’ll trigger the quest “A Cockroach in the Tavern.”

When you enter the tavern, the giant cockroach will attack you. It will poison you with its hits, but otherwise it shouldn’t be too difficult to kill. When the cockroach dies you’ll gain 30 experience points, and then when you return to Soapstone, you’ll receive 20 more experience points.

6 – Stoerrebrandt Warehouse

If you joined the Stoerrebrandt Trading Company, then inside the warehouse you’ll meet Emmeran Stoerrebrandt, who will have one final task for you. See the quest For a Handful of Ducats for more information.

7 – The Fleet Footed Ferret

After completing the quest For a Handful of Ducats, you’ll meet a couple named Sylvene and Orlan inside the tavern. When you talk to them, you’ll learn that Sylvene insulted a witch, and that’s why Orlan is currently floating around in a chair. If you agree to help them, then you’ll trigger the quest “The Bewitched Barstool.”

To help out Sylvene and Orlan, you’ll need to visit Rakorium in Ardo’s residence (#4). After a bit of cajoling, Rakorium will agree to create an antidote for the couple, but only if you bring him three things: a Cloth Shirt, some Ferdok Pale Ale, and Mandrake Powder. If you don’t have any of these ingredients, then you can buy them all from the merchants outside of Ardo’s residence.

When you deliver the ingredients to Rakorium, he’ll drink the beer and wear the shirt, but also create a Magic Powder, and you’ll receive 30 experience points. Then when you give the powder to Sylvene, she’ll reward you with 5 thalers and 20 experience points.

8 – Neisbeck Warehouse

If you joined the Neisbeck Trading Company, then inside the warehouse you’ll meet Ulwina Neisbeck, who will have one final task for you. See the quest For a Handful of Ducats for more information.

9 – Ducal Residence

You’ll meet Traldar the Knight inside the residence, and you’ll be able to recruit him as a companion.

10 – Crooked Otto
