Hightown (Act II) – Dragon Age 2 Location

This guide gives players the layout of a location in Act 2 of Dragon Age 2. It’s complete with a map, legend, and overview of the area.

Overview

If you explore Hightown at night, then you’ll encounter groups of Invisible Sisters. If you defeat enough of these groups, then you’ll trigger the quest Ladies’ Lights Out.


1 – Worthy

At Worthy’s stall you’ll be able to craft runes.


2 – Hubert

Hubert (and his shop) will only appear here once you’ve triggered the quest Inside Job.


3 – Olaf’s Armory

From this shop you’ll be able to purchase Reinforced Bracers (an armor upgrade for Sebastian).


4 – Korval’s Blades


5 – Book

On the table here you’ll find a book that will give you the “lore” codex entry for A Study of the Fifth Blight, Vol. Two.


6 – Robes by Jean Luc

At this shop you’ll be able to buy a Backpack, Samite Lining (an armor upgrade for Merrill), a Supportive Corselet (an armor upgrade for Isabela), and a Tevinter Spirit Symbol (an armor upgrade for Fenris).


7 – Yevhen

Yevhen will only appear here for some characters. He’ll give you the quest Fool’s Gold.


8 – Hawke Estate

You’ll gain access to this estate at the start of Act II, and it will serve as your base of operations (replacing Gamlen’s house) for the rest of the game. Bodahn and Sandal will move into the house with you, and so you’ll be able to do your enchanting here as well.

The first time you enter the estate you’ll trigger the quest Prime Suspect. Inside, you’ll also find the “lore” codex entry for Thedas Calendar (from a book in the foyer).


9 – Chanter’s Board

Depending on your actions in Act I, you might find a few quests available here: Bounty Hunter, Elves at Large, and Sketchy on the Details.


10 – Fenris’s Mansion

This is where Fenris will go when he’s not in your party.


11 – DuPuis Estate

This estate is involved in the quest Prime Suspect.


12 – Mug

You’ll find a mug here that you can interact with, but nothing will happen when you use it.


13 – Seneschal Bran

Seneschal Bran is involved in the quest Offered and Lost.


14 – Viscount’s Office

This is where you’ll find Viscount Dumar. He’s involved in the quests Blackpowder Courtesy, Offered and Lost, Following the Qun, and Demands of the Qun.


15 – Saemus

This is where you’ll find the viscount’s son Saemus. He’s involved in the quest Following the Qun.


16 – Evil Tomes

These tomes are involved in the quest Forbidden Knowledge.


17 – Aveline’s Office

This is where you’ll find Aveline when she’s not in your party.


18 – Book

Examining the book here will give you or update the “lore” codex entry for The Engima of Kirkwall. You’ll need to find several of these codex entries for the Archaeologist achievement.


19 – Book

Examining the book here will give you the “lore” codex entry for The History of the Chantry: Chapter 2. You’ll need to find all four codex entries for the Chantry Historian achievement.


20 – Sebastian

This is where you’ll find Sebastian when he’s not in your party.


21 – Grand Cleric Elthina

Grand Cleric Elthina is involved in the quest Following the Qun.
