Orobas Fjords Aleroth – Divinity II: Ego Draconis

This guide will help you navigate the town of Aleroth after you’ve been to Orobas Fjords in Divinity II: Ego Draconis.

Aleroth Walkthrough

You can reach Aleroth once you repair the zeppelins during the quest On the Road Again by talking to Sepp who can be found atop the Champions’ Harbour.

Once in the city, you’ll witness a cutscene where the two armies collide and then Rhode, the Slayer with whom you have a certain history, gets imprisoned as she tried to banish you from the city, even though you have good intentions.

There aren’t any special places to visit in here, apart from the elevator that takes you to the other half of the city (#2). You’ll meet three merchants-war profiteers on the square (#3). There’s Pilcher who sells weaponry and armor, though most likely below the level of your current gear, Zarniyar, who sells useful charms and potions and Mercator, who sells herbs and food.

In front of the large hall stands Augustus, the captain of the guards around here. You can mindread him to get 1 extra stat point. If you tell him that you need to get to the Ministry to see Zandalor, he’ll say that the only way to do that is to use the teleport shrine (#5) and teleport to Ministry.

Once you reach the other side, Zandalor and a friend of his, Deodatus, will be standing in the center of the room. Talk to them and you’ll learn what has really happened in the city. Hordes of demons attacked in hope to acquire the shield that you need to successfully traverse into Hall of Echoes. Your quest is to protect Zandalor until he closes the portal while fighting off waves after waves of enemies.

Tell him that you’re not ready yet because that’s the only way to trigger an option to mindread him. This earns you additional two skill points. Once ready, talk to him to begin the event. Enemies will be spawning from the red portals. Make sure to follow Zandalor around, as the enemies will be spawning to whichever portal he goes to close. Try to attack any enemy going directly to Zandalor as only one hit is needed to break the channeling spell. The last sealing with three portals is rather annoying so just quicksave your game every 5-10 seconds and reload if Zandalor gets hit.

Once it’s all over, you’ll get your shield and Zandalor will send you to the Hall of Echoes. Use the teleport shrine in the room to exit the Ministry.
