Side Quests Pt. 2 Walkthrough

This section covers the second part of the side quests that can be completed in either the village or its outskirts, which means that main quest still doesn’t need to be progressed.

Feast or Famine

After you bring Richard (#1) the first heart, you can ask him for something more challenging to do. He’ll mention that he’d like the food supplies from Jackson’s farm to go to Aleroth instead. To do so, you’ll need to convince the guards over on the Jackson’s farm (#2) to leave, so that Richard’s friend could pick up the goods.

There are two ways to do this: you can either pay 100 gold coins or fight all three of them at once. After making them go away, head to Mouse (#3), Richard’s friend and tell him that the farm is free for now.

Afterwards, just visit Richard (#1) again and tell him the good news. This ends the quest and you’ll receive 1200 experience, 300 gold and a choice of either 600 experience, 150 gold coins or a potion.

Saving the Bacon

This quest starts at Folo, the farmer who tends to the pigsty in the village (#4). He doesn’t want his pigs over at Jackson’s farm (#2) killed and eaten, but he’ll require your help if he’s to get them out of there alive. There are two ways to solve this quest, either to help Folo, or go to Louis (#5) and tell him what Folo plans to do.

If you decide to help Folo, you’ll have to chase away the guards. That can be done either during the quest described above this one (Feast or Famine), or by sending the soldiers to Elisabeth. Either way, talk to the pig named Kevin and whisper “Rosebud” into his ear. This will prod the pigs to go to Folo. Talk to him again the end the quest and receive 1200 experience, 300 gold and a choice of either 600 experience, 150 gold or a potion.

New Order or Champion Chaos?

If you refuse Richard’s quest to ferry the goods to Aleroth, you can go and confront the New Order guards on the Jackson’s farm (#2). Talk to Lomax and you’ll have another choice: either side with the guards or with Richard.

If you side with Richard, you’ll have the usual choice of rewards along with an uncommon item. If you side with the guards instead, you’ll kill Richard. Afterwards, you can mindread Lomax and gain a stat point.

A Private Delivery

This small quest starts once you talk to Dana (#2) on Jackson’s farm and accept to take her letter to Dirk (#6), the blacksmith in the village. You can either proceed to do so, or read the letter yourself and take it to her husband instead, who’s in prison in the barracks (#5).

You’ll get 600 experience, 150 gold and a choice of 300 experience, 75 gold or a book for your efforts.

Skeletons in the Closet

After finding Carl’s diary in the cellar of the house on his farm (#2), read it to start this quest. You’ll learn that Carl killed Boothe, one of Dana’s previous boyfriends.

With this troubling piece of information, you’ve got several options. Go confront Carl about it, which will end the quest and force you to kill him. Second option is to keep silent and get paid by Carl for doing so. The third one is to go to Rodney (#5), the captain of the guards, and report the situation. This will put Carl behind bars. Either way, you’ll receive your 600 experience, 150 gold and a choice of either 300 experience, 75 gold or some minor items.

Into the Bandit’s Den

This quest is initiated once you talk to Louis (#5) who is most likely talking to Rhode in the barracks. He’ll say that a group of bandits is troubling him and he’d like to get rid of them. His plan is to trick one of the bandit prisoners, Martis, into helping you, by intentionally freeing him. This way, he’s supposed to lead you to the bandits’ hideout and then you can wipe them out. He gives you the first clue, that the burnt chapel and the altar in there has something to do with it.

Alternative to Louis’ plan is way too costly to be effective, so you might just continue with his plan (you can mindread Martis in the prison (#5), but it just isn’t worth the experience debt).

Anyway, head to the burnt chapel and interact with the altar. This will bring you below to the tunnels. Detailed points of interest are given on the map over here (Secret Passage). After getting to Martis and then leading him safely outside through the back entrance (#8), he’ll tell you the password and location of the bandits’ hideout as long as you act like you’re one of them.

If you wish to finish the quest now, you’ll be prevented from completing a few more quests later in the bandit camp. Therefore, it’s better to hold onto speaking to Louis (#5) about the location of the bandit camp before you do that.
