You’ll trigger this task by completing it.

Walkthrough

After learning from Garte how much you owe at the Whirling-in-Rags (#1), you can ask Lena (also in the Whirling-in-Rags) for a handout. She won’t have any money to spare, but if you pass a Suggestion check, then she’ll give you a Commemorative Pin to help you out. If you sell the pin at the pawnshop (#2), then you’ll get 3.20 real for it. If you later buy it back for 3.30 real and give it to Lena, then you’ll complete the task and earn 10 xp. You’ll also gain +2 honor.

Note: If you simply give back the pin without selling it first, then you’ll still complete the task and gain +2 honor, but you won’t earn any xp.

Another Note: It isn’t possible to complete this task and the task Pay Lena Back for Pin.
