Dead Body on the Boardwalk Walkthrough

Background

You’ll find the corpse of a man on the boardwalk in Martinaise West (#1). When you examine him with Kim, you’ll find a Folded Library Card in his pocket, and you’ll determine that he died in an accident. You’ll also realize that he’s the man the working class woman asked you to locate during the task Find Working Class Husband (if you triggered that task). Afterwards, you’ll be given two options: to identify the man yourself or to let Kim’s precinct handle it. You’ll trigger this task if you choose to identify the man yourself (and Report the Dead Body to the Station otherwise).

Walkthrough

To learn more about the man, you’ll need to interact with his library card. You’ll see that the card is for the Central Jamrock Public Library, and that it was issued to Billie Mejean. Next, you’ll need to head over to Kim’s car (#2) and use its radio to call the library, which is only open between 10:00 and 18:00. The librarians will give you Billie Mejean’s address: apartment #20 in the Capeside Apartments. They’ll also inform you that Billie is a woman, and that they saw her husband in the library yesterday. Finally, you should call Kim’s precinct (again using the radio in his car) to notify them of the death. They’ll agree to send someone out to collect the body.

You’ll find Billie Mejean’s apartment on the eastern side of the eastern face of the Capeside Apartments (#3). When you talk to Billie, if you pass an Empathy check and if you choose thoughtful dialogue options, then you’ll survive the conversation unscathed, and Kim will be proud of you. Otherwise, if you keep saying the wrong things, then you can lose up to one point of Health and two points of Morale, and Kim will try to be understanding. Either way, you’ll leave the library card with Billie, and you’ll earn 10 xp for completing the task.
