Another Original Baldur’s Gate Series Developer Joins the Enhanced Edition Team

I’ve just updated my original Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition announcement post with a variety of interesting new information, with the most notable being Trent Oster’s announcement that yet another original Baldur’s Gate series developer has joined the Beamdog team to work on the project(s). No name is given, but considering the “#somedaysoonibetterstartannouncingnames” hashtag included in his tweet, I think we’ll be finding out soon enough. Anyway, here’s a list of all the bullet points that I just added:

‘¢ The system requirements for Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition will be slightly higher than the vanilla version of the game due to the addition of Open GL support.

‘¢ The team is researching ways of fixing the games’ pathfinding issues, though no improvements have been promised yet.

‘¢ A Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition was considered, but given the fact that Cryptic Studios will be releasing a free-to-play MMO called Neverwinter, such a project may never happen.

‘¢ One of the reasons it took so long for the project(s) to get underway was due to a “long contract negotiation” with EA/BioWare.

‘¢ The team added yet another original Baldur’s Gate series developer on April 10th, or at least that was when it was announced via Twitter.
