North Forest – Baldur’s Gate II

This guide will walk you through the North Forest in Chapter 6 of Baldur’s Gate II. This area’s code in the game files is AR1800.

Overview

Note: To unlock this map area, you’ll need to visit Small Teeth Pass.

1 – Yuan-ti Battle

At this spot during the day, you’ll encounter a group of yuan-ti, including a yuan-ti mage (worth 14,500 xp total).

2 – Genies and Vampires

At this spot during the day, you’ll encounter a dao and an efreeti (worth 13,000 xp total). At night, you’ll encounter two vampires (worth 29,000 xp total).

3 – Trolls and Mists

At this spot during the day, you’ll encounter a group of trolls (worth over 3000 xp total). At night, you’ll encounter a collection of mists (worth 25,500 xp total).

4 – Greater Wyvern

At this spot, you’ll encounter a greater wyvern (worth 5500 xp).

5 – Adventurers

When you reach this spot, you’ll encounter an anonymous group of adventurers consisting of an archer, a duergar, a mage, a mercenary, a mist mephit, a priest of cyric, a skeleton warrior, and a thief. The mage and the priest are the two most powerful members of the group, so you should focus on them first and then mop up the rest. You’ll earn over 38,000 xp for defeating the adventurers, but you’ll only find anonymous +2 equipment on their corpses, which is probably appropriate.
