Importing Equipment – Baldur’s Gate II

When you import a character into Baldur’s Gate II, mostly you’ll only get your character’s stats — things like attributes (including any tomes used in the first game), skills, weapon proficiencies, and spells.

But a few pieces of equipment will make the trip as well. For an item to be imported, it must be worn or in the inventory of your main character. It can’t be in a bag.

Imported items come in five categories:

• Golden Pantaloons. You’ll find this item behind the painting in the jailer’s room in Irenicus’s Dungeon (Level 1).
• One weapon from the following list: Flame Tongue +1: The Burning Earth, Ashideena +2, Bala’s Axe, Wizard Slayer, Suryris’s Blade +2, Longtooth +2: The Grave Binder, Staff Spear +2, Staff Mace +2, Sling +3, Varscona +2, Krotan’s Skullcrusher +2, or Kiel’s Morning Star +3. The game will select the first weapon it finds in the list using the order shown here. If you don’t have any of these weapons on your character, then you’ll find a weapon appropriate for your character’s build. You’ll find the imported weapon on the table in the sewage golem’s room in Irenicus’s Dungeon (Level 1).
• One piece of armor from the following list: Protector of the Second +2, Mail of the Dead +2, Fallorain’s Plate +1, or Chain Mail +3. The game will select the first armor it finds in the list using the order shown here. If you don’t have any of these armors on your character, then you’ll find Mail of the Dead +2 by default. You’ll find the imported armor on Ilyich the duergar in Irenicus’s Dungeon (Level 1).
• One miscellaneous item from the following list: Helm of Balduran, The Claw of Kazgaroth, The Horn of Kazgaroth, or Koveras’s Ring of Protection. The game will select the first item it finds in the list using the order shown here. If you don’t have any of these items on your character, then you’ll find the Helm of Balduran by default. You’ll find the imported item in the master’s bedroom in Irenicus’s Dungeon (Level 1).
• Several items from Siege of Dragonspear. All of the following items will be imported into the game:
  • Archer’s Eyes – Loot from drow gate guards in Kuo-toan Tunnels in the Underdark
  • Bard Hat – Dropped by Aawill in Planar Prison
  • Belt of the Skillful Blade – Sold by drow shopkeeper at entrance to Ust Natha
  • Biter +2 – Sold by Jayes in Waukeen’s Promenade
  • Buckler of the Fist +2 – Sold by Black Market Thief in Slums District (near Temple of Ilmater)
  • Dragon Blade +3 – Dropped by Tazok in Windspear Hills Dungeon (Level 2)
  • Helmet of Dumathoin – Dropped by Tarnor the Hatchetman in Temple District Sewers
  • Robe of Red Flames – Worn by Edwin in Mae’Var’s Guildhall in Docks District
  • Tangled Strings – Sold by merchant in Merchant’s Square in Bridge District
  • Voidhammer +3 or Voidsword +3 – Found in blood pool in blood-letting room in Bodhi’s Lair (Chapter 6)
