Lyran’s Hold Upper Level – Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II

This guide will walk you through the upper level of Lyran’s Hold in Chapter Two of Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II.

1 – Trapped Floor

Head north from the starting area and you’ll enter a large room with some chests and weapon racks to loot. Watch out, though, because spikes will randomly come up through the floor.

2 – Circuit

The outer rooms make a circuit and you’ll want to take out all the regular bad guys before you take on Lyran. Head east first.

3 – Fire Pillars

The long L-shaped room to the east has two fire pillars. After checking the two alcoves to the west, examine the wall to the east. A door should open up that allows you to continue.

4 – Lots of Loot

Head north, looting the many chests and weapon racks that are waiting. Watch out for floor spikes, though. Continue west, killing and looting, until you get to a save point.

5 – Trap Room

Save before you go through the door, because the next room is pretty dicey. There are a bunch of fire pillars and floor spikes, so be extra careful if you want to loot all the chests.

6 – Study

When you’ve made the circuit, head back to the room at the twelve o’clock position. Head south into a room with four regular pillars. A chest in the next room has the key to the study. There are also some papers that will tell you how to defeat Lyran by destroying his remains in the cellar. When you go through the door, Lyran will appear and start harrassing you. He’s invincible in this state, so just run to the door that leads downstairs (the one you came through).
