Halls of the Hammer Pt. 2 – Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II

This guide will walk you through the second area of Halls of the Hammer in Chapter Two of Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II.

1 – Mimic

As soon as you get to the second level, a cut scene informs you that you’ll be dealing with mimics. Unfortunately, you won’t find one for a little while. Head down the halls until you reach a pillared room.

2 – This Treasure Bites

One of the chests on the raised area is a mimic, so you’ll have to fight it as well as the orcs.

3 – West Hall

North of the pillared room, you’ll find a save point. When you’ve saved, head west from the pillared room, looting the side areas as you go. Each side room will have two chests, one of which is a mimic, except for the last room on the left, in which both chests are mimics. Keep going until you reach another pillared room.

4 – Maze of Pillared Rooms

Go north to an even bigger pillared room, then east to a multi-leveled pillared room. Go east from this room and use the vault key that Durbem gave you to open the door.

5 – Treasure Vault

The treasure in the vault is guarded by an enchanted poleaxe. I’m still not sure how to kill it for good, but you can knock it out for a few seconds to loot a chest or two before you have to fight it again.

6 – Exit

When you are done with the vault, head north from the multi-leveled room to exit to Halls of the Hammer Third Deep.
