Dragonspear Caverns – Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II

This guide will walk you through the Dragonspear Caverns in Chapter Two of Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II.

1 – Bad Shrooms

Not too far from the starting point, you’ll find a pile of gold next to a mushroom. You should remember that mushrooms periodically emit a poison gas. You haven’t encountered these in a while, though, so I thought I’d offer a heads up.

2 – East Alcove

When the path branches, head down the east tunnel to get some treasure in an alcove. There are stalagmite looking creatures and mushrooms here, so watch out. Leave the alcove and continue northwest.

3 – Driders

Eventually, you’ll get a cut scene that introduces you to the main inhabitants of the caverns. If you aren’t familiar with the Forgotten Realms, driders are hybrids of dark elves and spiders. The path forks at this point, but both paths take you to the same place. Take the west path to get a chest in a niche along the east wall.

4 – Choices

When the path forks again, you can avoid some fighting if you want to by taking the south fork and heading southwest at the save point. Eventually you will make your way to the exit. If you want to kill all the monsters on the level and find all the loot, though, take the north path and make a big circle back to the save point.

5 – North Path

Taking the north path, the tunnel will fork again. Stay to the north side to avoid a poison mushroom. Keep going north and don’t miss the little alcove on the left hand side.

6 – Mush-Room

When you reach the room with four mushrooms, head east and make a small circle around a rock formation, then head west to the save point.

7 – To Ulchalothe’s Lair

The rest of the level is linear from the save point. Keep on truckin’ and eventually you’ll hit the exit, which leads to Ulchalothe’s Lair.

I love RPGs, MMOs, and weird little indie games. Anything that lets me build and decorate or just has a really good story. I've spent hundreds of hours in Bethesda games and even more time modding them. I also play a lot of World of Warcraft.
