Baldur’s Gate – Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II

This guide will walk you through the first portion of Chapter One in Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II, when you first arrive at Baldur’s Gate.

1 – Wrath of Kharne

Before you hit Baldur’s Gate, you get a cut-scene of the head bad guy talking to one of his subordinates about some expositional things. He assures you – I mean, his subordinate – that Kharne is very hard to kill and therefore, not out of the picture. When the scene is over, Randalla will give you a reward of 1000 gp and 1000 xp. She also tells you to look for her at the Purple Wyrm Inn if you want some more work. And with that, you’re left to explore the city.

2 – Guard Captain

The closest person who’s willing to talk to you is Sollus Duncirc, captain of the guard. He gives you the task of cleaning up the mess that the adventurers from the first Dark Alliance game left in the sewers. He’ll give you 1000 gold and 1000 xp for killing the 100+ monsters in the sewers. After you’ve done Randalla’s murder and kidnapping quests, he’ll assign you the task of exterminating the Red Fangs. You get 3000 gp and 3000 xp for finishing this job.

3 – Bartley

Bartley the trader is back, and selling stuff on the street now. He has taken on a dwarven craftsman named Durbem to craft custom-made weapons.

4 – Sewers Entrance

If you want to go ahead and get the Sewers job out of the way, the entrance is north of the Purple Wyrm Inn.

5 – Church of Helm

The Church of Helm is next to the Purple Wyrm Inn. The priest doesn’t have much to say, though, unless you are playing the cleric. Allessia can make donations to the church throughout the game to get extra xp.

6 – Purple Wyrm Inn

The Purple Wyrm Inn is on the other side of the save point from the Church of Helm.

7 – Bloodmire Manor

If you talked to Randalla about investigating the local murders, head north to the Bloodmire Manor.

8 – Omduil Estate

Omduil is a scatterbrained wizard. He hints that he has some work for you and that he will sell you information, but he will do neither unless you are playing the necromancer and have money. Throughout the game you can pay him to reveal Ysuran’s memories, for which you will receive xp.

9 – Warehouse

After you’ve talked to Randalla about the kidnappings and agreed to try to rescue the hostages, you’ll be able to enter the Warehouse.

I love RPGs, MMOs, and weird little indie games. Anything that lets me build and decorate or just has a really good story. I've spent hundreds of hours in Bethesda games and even more time modding them. I also play a lot of World of Warcraft.
