X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse Reviews

Yet another handful of reviews for Activision and Raven’s X-Men Legends II have hit the web, and they’re all fairly positive. The first is at The Laser with an overall score of “A”:

Seriously.X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse is one of the best games I’ve had the chance to play all year. The thorough mix of arcade styled action and intricate RPG elements would make any game in the genre stand out amongst the crowd. By throwing in the comic book aspects of the rich X-Men lore, Legends II goes that much further, giving players’ full control of their favorite heroes and villains alike. Action/RPG gamers and comic book fans alike will no doubt be sucked into to this game in a heartbeat, providing hours of enjoyment overall.

The second is at Cincinnati Weekly with no overall score:

Don’t even think twice about Legends 2. This game is both well-done and bashtastic fun.

The third is at The Armchair Empire with an overall score of 8.3/10:

In the end, if you’re into action/RPGs or the X-Men, X-Mem Legends II: Rise of the Apocalypse should be on your wish list for Christmas. It’s just about everything a fan could want even if it’s more popcorn than a “serious” RPG.

And the fourth is at The Opposite of Yes with an overall score of “heh+”:

Regardless of the tragically muddled story and botched multiplayer, X-Men Legends II isn’t a game that’s difficult to reccomend. The action is exciting and spectacular, the campaign is lengthy and there are more than enough playable characters to please any X-Men fan. People who only have a passing familiarity with the characters or comics will still find quite a lot to have fun with, and those yearning for a bit of nostalgia will appreciate the throwback to the classic arcade beat ’em ups. Even if there’s not something for everyone, there’s something for quite a few.
