Too Human in Development for 4 Years, Not 10

IncGamers is offering up a glimpse of an interview they did with Silicon Knights’ Denis Dyack, during which the company president claims that their action RPG Too Human was only in development for four years as opposed to the ten years that many online sources have claimed.

“We told the press numerous times that it [the length of time in development] was not true. The game was finally reviewed as it were in development for 10 years,” said Dyack.

Dyack went on to say the studio had announced the title after it had finished work on Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes in 2004, having come up with the name and a completely different story for the game in 1998.

“Too Human was an entirely different game when we first announced it,” explains Dyack.

“The story back in the 1990s was about a guy called John Franks who was on a quest to find out who killed his partner and had nothing to do with a retelling of Norse mythology.”

Asked why the name hadn’t changed if the story had, Dyack said the team wanted to keep the name as they liked it, but “wanted to explore the humanity and technology we could use.
